Hard to believe we've been living on the road for one month. And the crazy thing is we've done so much but it has flown by.

Think back to when you were a kid and every experience was new. It's like every passing second your brain is learning something new about how the world works. It's like the muscle of your brain is activated and aware at all times. You're fascinated by everything.

That's kind of what it's like, living on the road. Going to places we've never been. Meeting people from all over. Taking it in. Being the moment.

In one month it feels like we went from being on cruise control to learning how to drive a car we didn't even know existed anymore. We go to bed exhausted most nights because we've been completely alive and awake in every moment of the day. It's hard to explain. But we'll keep posting so you can continue to be part of it with us.

Beaver Creek, Ohio

We spent the 4th of July weekend with family in Beaver Creek, OH.

Al, Miles and Pasquale - The boys

We had a lot of great laughs with them.

Glenda and Al opened up their home (and driveway) to us. Our hearts (and bellies) were filled the whole time. Even the dogs enjoyed their time there.

I enjoyed sitting out here with my morning coffee. Watching the birds, squirrels, chipmunks and other wild animals running around.

Stuffed artichokes

Felt like a second home for all of us for the weekend

This quilt was made by a group of friends of over 40 years. It's called "The Teddy Bears." There are 20 quilts exactly like this one in each of their homes. Glenda's is the second row, second one for the right with the music notes.

Wright-Patterson Air Force Base

This was the first statue we saw. I expected to see women but not the first. I was proud.

The plaque reads "Women Airforce Service Pilots" Served their country in WWII. They were the first women military pilots to fly the with the United States Army Air Forces. 1942 - 1944. Dedicated 14 September 1994"

This is Christopher and Scout. They're part of the team that sniffs drugs and such from airports. Scout is also a riot control dog.

A few of the uniforms they wore throughout different wars.

Left to right (L) WWII 1943-1945

(M)F-4C Pilot, Vietnam 1966

(R) U-2 Pilot 1989 or later

A few planes and missiles. War planes make me sad because I know many lives were lost for all of us to have our freedom today.

An old bike from when the Wright Brothers were inventing planes.

Cousins enjoying some stories and laughs together

What an amazing time we had with family. It was sad to say goodbye but Indiana was calling our names. So off we go.

Safe travels.
