I cried when I saw it. It's that spectacular.

Along the way

Rock formations, mountains and trains... oh my. We saw it all along our drive to the Grand Canyon.

Can you imagine living in a town like this? It was 98 degrees today and I'm sure these little homes aren't equipped with AC.

The trains out here just keep going and going and going. Wonder how many cars a single train to move. Reminds of what we imagine it would like in the old western days when trains, horses or stage coaches were the only way to get around. How lucky are we today.

Welcome to the Grand Canyon

We made it to the Grand Canyon.

Our campsite is nice and we met this young man, Chris. He's riding his bike from FL to CA. He just turned 50 and this bike tour was on his bucket list. He sleeps wherever he can find a campground. Pitches a tent for a few days and then moves on. He has no time limit, just like us.

We're headed up to the Grand Canyon on our 2nd day and we see these elk. How amazing it is to see God's creatures in their environment. I never get tired of seeing animals in the wild. It's like the first time, every time.

Our first picture of the Grand Canyon. I cried when I saw it.

More elk and a few selfies. Chilly and windy here but we're not complaining.

There's a walk way all around this canyon. This is he north side of the canyon. The south side, which they say is the best, is closed.

Our 2nd day we went exploring more. I had terrible altitude sickness and there were burn control fires happening throughout the park, so the smoke was another issue.

The bird is a Raven (the natives believed Ravens brought good luck).

We found that rock while exploring. Looks like a footprint and sun dial. Man made or made by nature? You decide.

We found a road you can follow through the canyon and pulled off. This place never gets old.

Brandi wasn't fond of being that high up. Miles would have loved it.

We pulled off of here and hiked a bit. The view was amazing.

Another pull off and the view is still amazing.

This was at the end of that road we took.

That tower was called Desert view watch tower. This was at the very end of this part of the canyon. Want an amazing few days this was.

We decided to get up at 4am to see the sunrise over the canyon. Right as we were pulling out of our campsite we see these two elk - male and female. How blessed are we.

So worth watching a sunrise here. There no words to describe the beautiful.

Just a few pics we saw riding around town.

Can't do a sunrise without a sunset.

Pasquale was the brave soul. It was freezing and windy. He loved it.

We stayed about an hour after the sunset. It was amazing.

That pizza wasn't Pepe's but damn close. Our neighbors with the moles. Good thing they have no teeth.

Pasquale hooking up and we are on the road again. We are heading to Nellis AFB in Las Vegas, NV.
