First time seeing a windmill farm this size. The last 50 miles of Ohio farmland were filled with these. And that's corn and soy below.
--Felt like home... New Haven
--Tried taking a photo of the antenna but that "Welcome to Indiana" sign got in the way.
Promenade Park | Fort Wayne, Indiana
Pretty cool multi-use space. We read an article that there was nothing to do in Fort Wayne, Indiana. We're here to tell you that's 100% NOT True.
Amish Village
We're in Shipshewana, Indiana Amish country.
Where we ate. Restaurant was all Amish german food.
Rocking chairs from that outdoor furniture store.
Did you know that horse and buggie carriages had license plates?
Ben's Store (probably named after my twin brother)
I like this ABC dresser and wanted a nice picture of it. So I moved the toilet paper and cleaning supplies and replaced them with the sunflowers. I put it all back after I took the picture
Testing out the toys at the playground.
Ready for a little fun?
Guess why Pasquale and the dogs were sitting on a bench under a tree:
They were tired
They were lost
They lost me to an Amish quilt shop
Spoiler alert below:
If you guessed Amish quilt shop you were right! Check out these beautiful quilts.
University of Notre Dame
Joseph, one of our son-in-laws, went to Notre Dame and insisted we visit the amazing campus. It's much different from say Yale where the campus is blended within the city. ND is it's own city in itself. It was beautiful.
The Basilica of the Sacred Heart at the University of Notre Dame
The main building. This is where some of the classes are held and some of the admins are.

I would walk 500 miles and I would walk 500 more just to see the entire campus...
Officially called the Clarke Memorial Fountain but the students and locals call it "Stonehenge." The fountain was intended as a memorial to the approximately 500 Notre Dame alumni who died in World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War.

Pasquale was over here making friends with these guys.
Some other pictures we took on campus
The football stadium

Johnny Appleseed Campground
Hearing Siri say "Turn right onto Harry W Baals Drive" never got old.
We kept our camping area pretty basic at this campground and really focused more on exploring.
Went to the grave site of Johnny Appleseed.
Some people we met along the way

This is Karen Hirschy she is a high school teacher here in Indiana. She's training for a ride from western Iowa all the way to eastern Iowa. Each biker dips their back tire in the Missouri River which is on the west side of Iowa. Then dips their front tire in the Mississippi River on the east side of Iowa. riding in this race https://ragbrai.com/
She's an awesome person and we are so glad she asked us to sit with her because she was leaving. We all ate our ice creams and talked and we all left about a half hour later . It's people like Karen who make this adventure so much more interesting than just site seeing.
Dj and Jeff Bushwood country club are part of a 24 year drinking team with a softball problem from Fort Wayne. Camped out over night with about 60 other player. They take their softball game serious in this town. 25 team played on Sat. 7am - 7pm they final finished.
And that's all folks.
Headed to our next camping spot in Indiana.
No questions ~ I usually get the scoop! I am not at all shocked you found a quilting store though… 🤣
