We came, we saw, we conquered. And we even did the base obstacle course (scroll down to see more pics).

A training base for the Indiana National Guard, Camp Atterbury Army Base was built just before the US entered WWII.
This is one of the bases our troops came to when they left Afghanistan. All day long we hear gun fire from the army guys practicing. Places go over us but by the time you think you can see them, they're gone. Miles doesn't like the gun fire or m-16s going off. They're pretty loud.
We met a few other couples who are also fulltime RVer's. They've been on the road from 5 years to 9 years. There's definitely something special to all of this.

Our setup here. There's a pool, gym, free laundry room, BX - base exchange (which Pasquale loves), post office, cable and tons of places to walk the dogs.

Some of the campers here. That truck pulls that camper (the durango) and has all of the bells and whistles you could imagine...and then some.
Just a walk around the place last night around 9:30. The sky was on fire. You could see the rain way off in the distance -- reminded me of Colorado. The very first time I saw that happen in Rocky Mountains, miles away from where my daughter, Lauramay, and I were driving.
someone is already out

These cars were going at least 130 mph on the straight away. It was a great day for sure. That was pit road.

Today we walked to the gym and pool. Then we did the obstacle course. All this before we had a downpour of rain at 11am.
Finished up the obstacles and said #StillGotIt
Rainy days and laundry just go hand and hand. The room beside the laundry room has a tv and a couch. All of this is free and super nice compared to what what we usually have.
Military Hack: In case anyone needs to know how to get the smell of skunk spray off yourself, your clothes or your pets.

The pool was really refreshing. Took full advantage of it.
A little history about things around the base.
The rock and plaque are from a prisoner a long time ago here at Camp Atterbury. They still have prisoners here on base today. Most of them are in for minor stuff. We had two young men working in the campground. They took care of the place like it was their backyard.
The other stuff is like an outside museum. A lot of those things were actually over in Afghanistan when Pasquale was over there.
And that was the end of our visit to Camp Atterbury. By far this was a top notch campground, we even had AC bathrooms (ah, the little things you appreciate these days).
Heading to another campground. Good night everyone.
And as always, we're out chasing the sun.
