We made it after a pretty long (and boring) drive. Lots of trucks and cars and then some back roads. I'm not sure what we expected Nashville to be like but we couldn't have imagined it to be amazing and as non-stop as it was.

And we also had our first visitor.

This is post 1 of 2 on Nashville.

We stayed right on Percy Point Lake at Anderson Campground. The setup was pretty sweet. And then even had a second fire pit right on the waters edge.

Everyone (even the animals) were happy to be settled in. Everything is all setup and now it's time to relax and enjoy those views

The deer are here. So are the ducks, heroin, cranes and osprey. Sat outside watching them for a while. Apparently they mate for life and when 1 dies the other stays alone. Sad but nature, I guess.

Decided to go into Nashville -- it was 98 outside. Saw there was -- what looked like from online -- a really cool fort. Just didn't expect people to be using it as a bathroom and their personal house. So that was weird.

But we did walk around the city a bit. Here's some of what we saw over by the river area.

We met some friends. This is Antonette from CA. Here and her boyfriend are fulltime RVers like us. They've been doing it for a year now. She drives that 2500 Chevy and pulls that 5th wheel and her bf drives the electric car behind her. Really sweet people. Pasquale helped her guide into her spot -- the downgrade on these sites are pretty steep and can be scary. Not much room for error. We've met some really sweet people on this trip.

Decided to take a hike on our 3rd day here. That bridge was so tall over our heads and we got treated with a train that seemed like it 2 miles long.

On Sept. 1, we picked up this young lady from the airport. She spent 6 days with us. We are thrilled to have her with us.

This trip we also learned bugs can't read.

Just some pics from our day around the campground. Eating breakfast, making a morning fire in my jammies, sipping on coffee. Walking sticks were everywhere and they were big. The males are smaller than females and it's mating season for all kinds of creatures. And this crazy butterfly hung out with us all morning.

Our site is in this perfect little spot where we can see both sunrise and sunset.

Look at the mirror image of the sky in the water in the first pic. Just stunning.

Pasquale and Lauramay checking on the dinner in the cast iron pot we bought at the lodge.

The forest floor here is covered in this thick greenery. I took a video of all the sounds here but I can't figure out how to add videos to this. This is the view on the walk up to the bathrooms.

We took a ride to check out Fort Negley. It's a fortification built by Union troops after the capture of Nashville, Tennessee (the first city in the south to fall during the Civil War) during the American Civil War, located approximately 2 miles south of the city center. It was the largest inland fort built in the United States during the war. It's under renovation but we were still able to walk around and check it out.

They use sheep to keep manage the lawn naturally. That was pretty cool.

There was also a cool lookout spot where you could see city of Nashville.

A little peak into how we make dinner. Trying out a new way of a makeshift dutch over. It's pretty brilliant if you ask me.

Made meatloaf tonight.

The next day we headed to the Country Music Hall of Fame. We could have spent hours upon hours here. It was impressive and overwhelming with the coolest stuff.

Elvis' car, Minnie Pearl's dress and check out the console of that seat. It's a saddle with half dollar coins on it.

The BBQ joint we found a few blocks from the music hall of fame. Pretty sure Lauramay (about 7 months pregnant) is still thinking about.

Then we decided to take a walk to the Shelby Street Bridge, longest pedestrian only bridge built in 1909. The views of the city were so worth it.

Check out post 2 of Nashville to see what it was like at the Grand Ole Opry and everything else we did.
